Lecture Materials

Suggested Readings:

Suggested Readings are provided for each lecture. They are, as the name suggests, only suggestions since reading for the lectures is not compulsory. However, they do allow you to prepare in advance to participate in the interactive sessions and large group discussion. To access the suggested lecture readings for each lecture please click here.

Additional Readings:

Additional Readings are provided for each lecture. They are, as the name suggests, additional in the sense that they represent possible opportunities for wider reading in and around the subject matter of the lecture. In this way they might help you to decide if you might like to prepare your project in this topic area. Additional reading for the lectures is not compulsory. However, it would also allow you to prepare better in advance for participation in the interactive sessions and large group discussion. To access the additional lecture readings please click here.

Concept Charts:

The concept charts introduce you in some detail to key concepts elaborated in the lectures. They support the in-lecture discussion and application of these concepts to the issues discussed. It is not compulsory to read or make use of the concept charts but they are very useful in broadening and deepening your knowledge and are designed to be concise, accessible and informative. To access the Concept Charts for each lecture please click here.

Powerpoint Shows:

For obvious reasons I provide neither lecture notes nor copies of lectures but I do provide copies of powerpoint shows in advance of lectures. They may support the in-lecture discussion and orientation by providing a 'map' of the lecture. You might, for example, print out the ppt and write notes in and around images and text in the ppt show as you participate in the lecture and in this way you can organise your thoughts and reflections on the content.

Tutorial Materials

Required Readings:

Required Readings are compulsory, as is participation in the tutorial meetings. They are, as the name suggests, required in the sense that they are fundamental to the discussion that will take place in the tutorial.

Suggested Readings:

Suggested Readings are provided for each tutorial. They are, as the name suggests, only suggestions. However, they do allow you to prepare in advance to participate in the interactive sessions and small group discussion. To access the suggested tutorial readings for each tutorial please click here.

Additional Readings:

Additional reading for the tutorials is not compulsory. However, it would also allow you to prepare better in advance for participation in the interactive sessions and small group discussion. And they would help you to decide if you would like to prepare a project on the relevant topic area. To access the additional tutorial readings please click here.
