The Department of History invites you to a series of movie screenings related to the course HIST2109 'Modern France: Culture, Society, Politics', taught by Dr. François Drémeaux.

The series could not avoid evoking the centennial of First World War. Set in 1918 on the Eastern European front, the movie tells the story of an officer of a special squad, upset by his experience of the war and waiting for being demobilised. With this 1996’s movie, director Bertrand Tavernier once again treat with subtlety of human trajectories shaken by History.

Screening in French with English subtitles.

All are welcome. No registration is required.
