The Department of History of the University of Hong Kong will hold the fourth in its series of workshops on the Cold War in Asia on February 14-15, 2012. This workshop is co-sponsored by the Cold War International History Project of the Woodrow Wilson Center, Washington, DC, and Cornell University.
Forty speakers from around the world, including China, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, India, Bangladesh, and Bulgaria, ranging from senior scholars to postgraduate students, will discuss:
- The Dynamics of Chinese Policies Toward Non-Communist Asia
- Mainland China, Taiwan, and the Quest for Socialist Solidarity
- Third Forces and Overseas Chinese in China’s Foreign Policy
- Japan and China in the Cold War
- The Cold War in Southeast Asia
- China and the Wars in Indochina
- Sino-Indian Conflicts: Multi-Archival Revelations
